When we learn about a new region, whether physically or metaphorically, we normally do so via an outward-in process which is made up of three phases of contact:
Our first contact is with the landscape. Normally, the landscape can be seen from the means of transport that is taking us to the new place or through whatever other vehicle we are using – including our imagination, memory, or past experiences.
Our second contact is, usually with the cultural heritage: This phase implies a bit – or a lot – of new knowledge. Feeling like a tourist, visiting and admiring a new region, through its culture and art, present in the architecture, in the streets and in every new corner… This process of exploration is what will make us feel immersed in this new land.
Our third contact is, without a doubt, through the region’s gastronomy.
In Extremadura, you can go through these three phases because of the marvelous green areas and water and environmental reserves that we have. Adding to this, you will also find a surprising and diverse cultural heritage, and unparalleled gastronomic richness.
